Whether your toddler has a mouth filled with teeth or only a few poking through, it’s time to start thinking about keeping his adorable smile healthy.

We recommend that you take your child to his first dentist appointment when he/she is 6 months.

There are three types of procedures:

1. Prophy: Patients diagnosed with a healthy mouth condition receive a prophylaxis. This procedure removes plaque on the teeth and at the gum line.
2. Full Mouth Debridement: Patients diagnosed with gingivitis, a reversible form of periodontal disease, typically require a full mouth debridement to remove build-up on the teeth so a full assessment can be conducted. 
3. Scaling & Root Planing (SRP): Patients diagnosed with active periodontal disease cannot benefit from a healthy mouth cleaning because they require treatment above and below the gum line. SRP is a non-surgical treatment that removes build-up, smooths out exposed root surfaces. 

-Periodontal Maintenance:This ongoing therapy provides cleaning and maintenance above and below the gum line to help manage periodontal disease. It is performed on patients who have successfully completed scaling & root planing.
